Assembly Operations allow you to easily create assemblies from separate parts with robots.

Assembly Operations creates a collection of air motion points (PTP and LIN) and Assembly status statements and have them modifiable under one Grab or Release statement.

To use this tool:

  1. Click the Assembly Operations tool from Statement toolbar in Program Editor. Another option is to select the Assembly Operations tool from the Hovel panel.

  2. The cursor changes to surface selection mode to pick the grab position from the part you want to grab. Pick a grab position from the 3D world.

  3. The Grab panel pops up.

You can modify the settings on the Grab tab, add extra statements on the Process tab and save parameters to templates or apply existing templates on the DB tab.

  4. Once the Grab parameters are ok, click Create Release Statement to create a release statement.
  5. Create Release Statement panel pops up.

If you want to add the part to an assembly, click Assembly:

    1. Select which assembly you want the part to be added. You can either select the assembly from a drop down list or first click on the  icon and then select the assembly from the 3D world.
    2. Select the matching feature of the assembly from the drop down list. The list is ranked by the similarity of the part's names, so in most cases, the first one on the list is the correct one.
    3. Click Create

If you want to release the part to some other position, for example a regrab station, click Release:

    1. Move the part to the desired release position. You can do this by jogging the robot or using the Snap, Align or Align to Regrab Station options on the Create Release Statement panel.
    2. Click Save Current Positions on the Create release statement panel.
    3. Click Create Release Statement.
  1. The Release panel pops up. You can modify the settings on the Release tab, add extra statements on the Process tab and save parameters to templates or apply existing templates on the DB tab.
